Field mechanics vs. esotericism – where the line really goes

This article is not about faith or interpretation of reality. It is about mechanisms that work whether one believes in them or not.

Increasingly, concepts such as “energy,” “karma,” “field” and “justice in time” are being lumped together with the label esotericism. This is a mistake that obscures the point of the conversation and takes away its practical value.

We sort out the differences below.

1. what is esotericism

Esotericism is the language of inner meaning. It operates with symbolism, meaning and interpretation of experiences.

Characteristics:

• Is based on subjective insight,
• does not require external verification,
• operates mainly at the individual level,
• answers the question “what does it mean to me?”.

Esotericism can be:

• mentally regulating,
• helpful in making sense of difficult events,
• inspiring.

However, it is not a tool for describing collective processes or systemic change.

2. what is field mechanics

Field mechanics is not a language of belief. It is a description of the relationships and feedbacks that occur between people, norms and institutions.

This field is not mystical. It is:

• psychological,
• Social,
• behavioral,
• cultural.

Field mechanics describes what happens:

• When boundary transgressions go unnamed,
• When violence remains without consequence,
• When the majority is silent,
• When conformity instead of responsibility is rewarded.

It’s the language of consistency, not interpretation.

Esoterica asks:

Why did this happen and what is the point?

Field mechanics asks:

What will happen next if this is ignored?

Esotericism works within the consciousness of the individual. The mechanics of the field work between people, regardless of their beliefs.

When talking about justice stretched over time, it is easy to fall into the language of karma or “getting even by fate.”

The mechanics of the field say otherwise:

If:

• Border violations are not named,
• responsibility is dispersed,
• Violence is being normalized,

Then the effects do not disappear. They are carried further – into relationships, institutions, subsequent generations.

This is not a punishment. It’s a lack of correction.

5. why silence is a key problem

Silence:

• stabilizes abuses,
• creates a semblance of normalcy,
• enables the reproduction of violence.

Therefore:

Not everything named will be rectified right away, but everything that is passed over will be repeated.

This sentence is not metaphysical. It is a description of a mechanism.

6. moral evolution is not a myth

Human nature is not fixed. It evolves not by the disappearance of impulses, but by expanding the boundaries of what is considered unacceptable.

History shows that things once considered normal – violence against children, slavery, torture – ceased to be accepted when the majority stopped normalizing them.

Systems truly change not when they fail, but when they do:

• cease to be untouchable,
• cease to be justified,
• cease to be protected by silence.

7. where the next border is today

Today’s frontier of moral evolution concerns indirect and structural violence:

• abuse of power without physical violence,
• psychological violence and manipulation,
• covering up harm with procedures,
• Shifting the consequences to the weaker ones.

These are areas that are still sometimes normalized because they are “legal,” “procedural” or “invisible.”

8. appendix: subjective meaning of numbers vs. field mechanics

It is worth clearly separating the two orders, which are often confused with each other.

If someone consciously gives a specific number a personal meaning – treats it as a symbol, landmark or internal reinforcement – it is a subjective and fully socially neutral experience.

Such a meaning can:

• organize attention,
• reinforce the intention,
• stabilize emotions,
• help with the consequences of action.

As long as it remains personal, it does not contradict any description of reality and does not harm anyone.

The mechanics of the field begin in a different place. It is not about what an individual experiences internally, but what happens between people when certain behaviors, norms or interpretations begin to be treated as common.

The border runs right here:

• Personal meaning → internal reinforcement,
• Attributing meaning to others → objective claim.

The problem arises not when someone experiences something, but when the subjective interpretation begins:

• Explain other people’s experiences,
• To justify suffering or violence,
• replace responsibility with symbolic meaning.

Field mechanics does not negate personal meanings. It only says that:

what strengthens the individual internally does not automatically describe the system mechanisms.

Numbers in the social field do not work because they have an assigned “power,” but because they influence the behavior, decisions and acceptance of the majority.

If personal meaning leads to greater attentiveness, responsibility and clarity of boundaries – it can indirectly affect the field. Not as a symbol, but as a change in a person’s attitude.

This distinction preserves both:

• space for personal meaning,
• And a fair description of collective mechanisms.

9 Summary

Systems are needed. Conflicts are inevitable. Violence does not disappear on its own.

Real change begins when the majority:

• notes the overstepping of boundaries,
• Calls them without escalation,
• ceases to accept them as “normal.”

This is not faith. It’s mechanics.
